For the transformation of the CME Center Lobby in Chicago, Porcelanosa played a central role in delivering the project's distinctive architectural identity. More than 1,000 KRION® Solid Surface panels were used to clad over 100,000 sq. ft. of the interior and exterior, forming a continuous skin that begins at the interior floor, flows seamlessly across walls and ceilings, and extends outside the glass façade.
KRION® was not only chosen for its clean, contemporary finish, but also for its performance—supporting the curved glass panels while integrating lighting, HVAC, and millwork into a unified surface. Its thermoformable properties and precision fabrication made it ideal for this highly customized lobby, where design, durability, and detail were paramount.
This high-profile installation helped redefine the building’s presence along South Wacker Drive and has since earned multiple industry awards for its innovation and execution.
